The 'Giraffe About Town' public art trail took place in Edinburgh over the summer festival period, with dozens of giraffes by different artists placed across the city in a large public art trail. I was commissioned by The Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News to create this piece for them, and it was placed outside the Scottish National Gallery in the hearth of Edinburgh. At the end of the season the giraffes will be auctioned to raise money for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
Covered from head to toe with illustrations representing different scenes around Scotland, Stravaig is packed with iconic landmarks and locations for people to find as they look closer. Stravaig is a Scots word for wander, roam, or ramble - and this giraffe is tattooed with the memories of that wandering all around Scotland.
