Commissioned by Penguin Random House, this new cover artwork for Paradise by A.L. Kennedy was published as part of a 'Modern Scottish Classics' collection in summer 2015.
The novel is a dark, lyrical comedy about Hannah, a forty-year-old woman with little to show for her life except a crippling alcohol addiction. It’s the story of her attempts to get herself together: trying to kick her addiction, going out with an alcoholic dentist who she suspects might be making her state of mind even worse, travelling from city to city around the world in a desperate search for something – possibly her own notion of ‘paradise’.
